Movie, book sale among events happening this weekend in Clark, Champaign Counties
Friends of the Library will be hosting a sale of ephemera and have a booth at the Springfield Farmer’s Market on Saturday with books and media on gardening, cookbooks, the environment, nature, landscaping, herbs , pets as well as children’s books using these subjects. as their basis.
Paperbacks will cost 0.25 cents, hardbacks will cost 50 cents, and audiovisual items will cost $1.

Golden Era Wildcats Reunion
The Springfield High School Golden Era Wildcats will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike in Springfield. A sign will be posted near the front door. Pizzas, soft drinks and cookies will be served for lunch at noon.
Springfield High School graduates and spouses from 1940 to 1960 are invited to participate in this fellowship and gathering of friends of all classes.
Barbara Rossler, director of volunteer services at United Senior Services, will be the guest speaker. USS, founded in 1968 as Elderly United, offers a wide range of programs and services that help people stay active, involved and independent. The Golden Era Wildcats were started by 1952 graduates organized by James Ingledue in 2018 at their last class reunion. The next gathering of the Golden Era Wildcats is scheduled for Monday, October 24 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
The Father Paul Vieson Center monthly community blood drive will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday at 205 W. Lake Ave. in New Carlisle.
