The name probably doesn’t need to be introduced unless you’ve skipped a few history lessons in school. Sardar Udham Singh was an Indian freedom fighter best known for murdering Michael O’Dwyer, the orchestrator of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. Its survival opened a new page in history and sparked a new series of events that greatly contributed to India’s independence from the British Raj.
Sardar oudham true story and film cast –
Outraged by the brutality of the incident, he decided to seek redress for the deaths of more than 300 people. Singh traveled to London with a gun hidden in a carved book and murdered Michale O Dwyer, then a Punjabi lieutenant, during a meeting at Caxton Hall (London), for orchestrating the massacre.
Sardar Udham Singh’s journey was anything but ordinary, and Vicky Kaushal brings it to life in the film. The trailer provides an overview of Udham Singh’s operations, from strategy to execution. We see him enter England under a false identity, stalk his prey through the city, and then proceed with the assassination. There are signs of Steven Spielberg Munich and that of Bryan Singer Valkyrie, both on assassination attempts on high value targets.
He recently shared a new photo from the film. Kaushal attempts to recreate the moment in the black and white collage, which depicts the freedom fighter performing langar seva. He said in a statement: “The story of Sardar Udham Singh is a story that has captivated and inspired me. It represents extraordinary strength, pain, passion, courage and sacrifice, and many values that I tried to do justice to through my character in the film. The role required a lot of physical and even more mental preparation to step into Udham Singh’s shoes and bring to life the story of a man whose heroism and courage are unmatched.
Sardar oudham Also stars Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu and Kirsty Averton in supporting roles.
