Seth Rogen and Elle Fanning to join the cast of Chippendales – Reportage
Actors Seth Rogen (Sausage Party) and Elle Fanning (The Great) are reportedly considering joining an upcoming film chronicling the origins of exotic male dance company Chippendales. Citing anonymous sources, Deadline was the first to report this development.
As of this writing, neither role is confirmed, but Rogen is reportedly playing Nick DeNoia, the choreographer behind the Chippendales routine. Fanning plans to play Playboy Bunny Dorothy Stratten, who helped develop the dancers’ signature cuff and necklaces uniforms.
The couple would join director Craig Gillespie (Me, Tonya) and Dev Patel (The Green Knight). The latter will play the role of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, the Indo-American entrepreneur who launched the touring dance troupe]Chippendales. The project would also mark a reunion for Rogen and Gillespie, who worked together on Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, on the 1995 robbery and the release of Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape. Pam & Tommy is set to debut on February 2, 2022.
Note that this project is unrelated to the Hulu Immigrant series, which will feature Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals, Silicon Valley) as Banerjee. Fans of the Immigrant story or the Chippendales are also likely to be interested in HBO Max’s The Real Magic Mike, an unscripted series about guys getting naked.
