The Unexplored The film will see the start of Nathan’s career as a treasure hunter as a teenager under Sully’s wing.

Mark Wahlberg as Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan

Wahlberg was the next star to join the Unexplored expressed as Sully in 2019, by variety. Interestingly, when talking about a Unexplored the adaptation began, the actor had been on board to play Nathan as an adult. However, he switched to the role of mentor when Sony decided to do an origin story instead.

Sully, a professional thief, treasure hunter and businessman, met Nathan in the 90s and offered to take care of the young boy. The two quickly developed a father-son relationship, often joking and proving their loyalty to each other.

It is not known exactly how far the Unexplored the film will stick to the story of the game, but it seems to show the early days of Nathan and Sully’s relationship.

Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer Lover

Another report from Variety found that Truth or Dare star Sophia Ali joined the Unexplored thrown shortly after Wahlberg. She will play Chloe, a professional thief and ally of Nathan and Sully.

Flashback in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves revealed that Chloe had once been a sweetheart for Nathan. However, Nathan later married his journalist girlfriend, Elena. Since the film takes place before Elena arrived, Unexplored will likely focus on the romance between Nathan and Chloe.

Chloe has been the subject of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, an extension to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. She has been described as a sharp thinker and a skilled ally, but not someone to betray. She’s not afraid to shoot someone down if they’ve wronged her.

Antonio Banderas and Tati Gabrielle as possible villains

Banderas and Tati Gabrielle joined Unexplored alongside Ali, but very little is known about their characters. Gabrielle, who previously starred in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will play a new character named Braddock. Meanwhile, Banderas’ character does not yet have a name.

Sony released the official Unexplored trailer in October, giving a bit of an idea of what fans can expect from the new characters. Banderas appears to be playing a villain, as he threatens Nathan in the trailer. According to the sound, Banderas will take on the role of a wealthy man whose family has spent years searching for the same treasure Nathan and Sully seek.

Gabrielle’s character looks equally menacing as she places a knife to Sully’s throat in a brief scene. Braddock may be one of the villains’ minions or some other family descendant.

Fans will have to wait and see how Nathan and Sully take on these villains when Unexplored hits theaters on February 18, 2022.
