The Movie Show: “Horrible Bosses 2” is just awful but “Paddington” is a charmer
The first Horrible Bosses wasn’t a bad movie at all, mainly thanks to the performances of the three horrible bosses in the title.
ennifer Aniston had fun playing a sex addict and Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey loved being horrible.
Whether we wanted a sequel or not, we got one, but according to The Independent screenwriter Paul Whitington, they didn’t have to care.
It’s her first one-star movie of the year thanks to a shady plot, bad writing and the very irritating voice of Charlie Day.
Fortunately, this is the only real stink of the week. The other big exit, Paddington, is quite a charming affair.
The Peruvian bear has had several incarnations since the 1950s, when it first arrived as a character in the books by Michael Bond.
Fans of the 1970s 3D / 2D animated series were dismayed when they saw the new Paddington slimline, but Paul recommends giving the guy a chance – it’s the perfect party feature for the whole family.
Boasting a cast that includes Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Imelda Staunton, Hugh Bonneville, Dr Who himself in the form of Peter Capaldi, and the crème de la crème of British talent, it’s witty, charming and fun. What more could you want?
