Upcoming thriller drama, Breakup, hits the big screen next month. Previously titled 892the movie Bleecker Street will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, August 26.
The production premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival under its original title earlier this year. But the general public will finally get a glimpse of the film based on real events.
Breaking tells the story of former Navy vet Brian Brown-Easley. He reaches his breaking point when financial support from the Department of Veterans Affairs never comes after he returns from service. He finds himself on the verge of homelessness and has a daughter to think about. That’s when he decides to hold a Wells Fargo bank in Atlanta hostage, pretending to have a bomb, to attract the attention of the police, the media and ordinary people so that they know that he does not receive his due.
The heartbreaking story is based on the real life story of the real Brian Brown-Easley. The incident happened in 2017. In reality, Brian let everyone go except two bank employees. He told the police he didn’t want to rob the bank, he just wanted the $892 the VA owed him.
