Zoe Quinn Gamergate Memoir Movie Book Rights

Zoe Quinn, the game designer who launched a thousand wronged male tweets, has sold the rights to his next memoirs on the harassment and abuse she faced during Gamergate at former Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal. Pascal confirmed today that she has opted for the rights to Quinn’s book, titled Crash Override: How to Save the Internet from Itself. Written deadline that while formal negotiations have yet to begin, Scarlett Johansson and other actresses have hinted that they might enjoy playing Quinn. Quinn has found herself at the center of a storm of controversy and abuse – including death and rape threats – following a story published by an ex which sparked a debate on “ethics in video game journalism”. Quinn wrote, in her original book proposal, how gambling has become more mainstream in recent history. She said that while most scoff at the new, more inclusive nature of gaming, there are some diehards still clinging to the Cheetos-and-Mountain-Dew ‘hardcore gamer’ brand of exclusionary identity. Simon & Schuster Touchstone will distribute Quinn’s memoir next September. The film does not have a set production start date.
